FLORIDA SCHILLING— Owner
I was born and raised in Tahiti and as a grade school student, my favorite subject was geography. I was always intrigued and fascinated by the diversity and cultures of the world. The opportunity came in March 1974 when I was hired by Virginia Thompson to be a travel consultant. I became the manager of Creekside Travel in 1979; and in the summer of 2009, I was offered the ownership of Thompson Creekside Travel. I take pleasure seeing a trip unfold and to be part of anyone’s travels, whether a honeymoon or family reunion or just for fun. I believe travel cultivates your mind and opens your horizons to the various cultures through its people, history and food. Some of my favorite destinations are Vietnam, Cambodia, Peru, Argentina, Turkey, and India. Their history, people and food are just amazing and interesting. Travel agencies have struggled to stay in business since 9/11. The elimination of commissions from the airlines and the onslaught of direct online marketing had caused consumers to forget their loyalty to their travel agent. I believe that airlines need to recognize the role of travel agents. As sellers of travel, our expertise and advice are valuable and we should be compensated for our time and efforts.

ANNETTE BARRET— Independent Travel Consultant
Annette’s love of travel started at a young age – growing up in Denmark she criss-crossed Europe as a youngster and eventually ended up moving to the US and settling down in Napa in 1985. Her travel agent career started in 1988 at Thompson Creekside travel where she enjoyed sharing her passion for travel with her clients, especially exotic destinations and active adventure travel. Annette changed careers in 2000 after 12 years as an agent, but she kept travelling – and missed the joy of sharing the of the places she has visited with clients. Technology now allows her to hold down her day job in the wine industry and still serve her travel clients needs. Adventure travel, active group vacations and exotic destinations are Annette’s personal favorites - so call or e-mail – get out there and see the world! thompsoncreekside@gmail.com Or 707-227-2604 |
