Day 1: Vienna, Austria – A Royal Start

My trip kicked off in the elegant capital of Austria, and I wasted no time diving into its imperial past. First stop: the stunning Schönbrunn Palace, where golden halls and manicured gardens gave me a taste of Habsburg grandeur. Next, I strolled through Hofburg Palace, once home to emperors and now a hub of museums and history.

In the afternoon, I joined a free guided walking tour of Vienna—always a great way to get your bearings and pick up local tips. The perfect ending? A magical classical concert at St. Peter’s Cathedral. Music, marble, and candlelight—it felt like time travel.

Day 2: Postcard Austria – Hallstatt & Schloss Ort

Time for some countryside charm! I hopped on a day-trip tour bus and set off to Schloss Ort, a fairytale castle floating on the lake. Then came Hallstatt, a dreamlike lakeside village with alpine houses clinging to the cliffs. Every corner begged for a photo. Pro tip: Hallstatt is just as magical in person as in the pictures—and far more peaceful in the early morning or late afternoon.

Day 3: Hello, Budapest!

I said goodbye to Austria and boarded a train to Budapest, Hungary. I arrived just in time for a truly special welcome: a Danube River boat tour complete with music, dancing, and local food. Watching the city sparkle at night from the water—while sipping Hungarian wine—was an experience I won’t forget.

Day 4: A Day Trip to Slovakia

In the morning, I took a quick train ride to Bratislava, Slovakia's compact and charming capital. A free walking tour helped me discover its rich history and quirky sculptures. After exploring the Old Town, I returned to Budapest just as the city lit up for the evening.

Day 5: Budapest Finale

For my final day, I started with a guided tour of the elegant Hungarian State Opera House—an architectural gem. Then, I joined a free walking tour to dive deeper into Budapest’s story. In the afternoon, I explored Fisherman’s Bastion independently, soaking in panoramic views of the Danube and Parliament.

Just before sunset, I took a last perfect shot of the Hungarian Parliament Building—a fitting end to an unforgettable trip. That night, I packed up and mentally bookmarked all the moments I didn’t want to forget.
